Customer service, quality and excellence are the key tenets of Swimart's culture. And it was with this in mind that judges recognised the best and brightest at the 2012 Swimart Going for Gold Awards.

This year Swimart franchisees from the network's 66 stores around Australia and New Zealand converged on Darwin in Australia's Top End for the annual conference and excellence awards. The awards were handed out at the gala event by Swimart Ambassador and Olympic gold medal swimmer, Susie O'Neill.

Swimart store owners were acknowledged for their performances across a range of categories including marketing, retailing, store presentation, sales growth and overall performance within the franchise network.

The awards were the culmination of a week of activities which were held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Darwin. With 2012 marking the 25th anniversary of the Swimart franchise network, an extra element of prestige was added to the presentation evening.

And the winners are:
The black-tie awards night saw the Oxenford, Queensland franchisee win the prestigious 2012 Australasian Franchisee of the Year award. This is the pinnacle award that recognises outstanding excellence in service, performance and operation. Swimart Oxenford picked up five awards this year.

"In selecting award winners, we examine the business as a whole," explains Chris Fitzmaurice, Swimart Australasian manager. "To win, stores must demonstrate they are exceeding expectations across the board. This includes product knowledge, sales growth, staff retention, adherence to our franchise system and meticulous customer service.

"We believe it is really important to recognise and reward our top performers. The adverse weather conditions over the past two summers have made for a challenging environment, but with creativity, tenacity and determination our award winners have shown that it is possible to be successful and maintain a strong business.

"We are proud of all our winners and we take our hats off to them for all their hard work."
