NSW pool register update

Don't Delay!

With the original deadline only a month away, now all NSW pool owners must have their pool and/or
spa registered by no later than the 29th of April 2016.

This is the second delay to the initiative in as many years, and is likely to have been caused by the lack of certifiers.

Pool owners should take advantage of the delay and register their pool online and book an inspection. This is especially important if you are planning on selling or leasing your property in the future.

For those living in NSW, jump online and register your pool today. Residents in other states should check with their local or state authorities.

This is what the process involves:

  • Heading to the government websitepoolregister2
  • Entering your email address
  • Answering a few questions about your pool so the relevant pool checklist will be provided
  • Opening email and following the link to register your property
  • Filling in relevant pool and/or spa information
  • Printing and/or saving your registration certificate

If you wish to sell or lease your property, you are also required to have your pool inspected by a certifier. You can book an inspection with a private certifier or with your local council. Appointments may be booked out for a few months in some areas, so make sure                                                                                you book an inspection as soon as possible if you are looking at putting your property on the market.

After 29 April, 2016 you will not be able to sell or lease your property unless the pool has passed an inspection.
